REFLECTIONS BY MATTHIAS HEIDERICH

We live in a world where, sometimes, architecture becomes something more than just a building. However, taking a great picture of GREAT architecture is a job. Architectural photography tells us what a building looks like. But not in this case…

I’ve been following Matthias Heiderich and his work recently, and I can confirm – he knows what he is doing! Matthias is a young and self-taught photographer, who is currently living in Berlin, Germany. A lot of people know about his stunning work, which is influenced by architecture, graphic design and urban landscapes. When I look at the photography series called “REFLECTIONS“, I can’t help but think how wonderful it is to take a picture of a building which, in reality, does not look AS sexy as it looks in his photographs. The pictures look like graphic paintings, which no longer resemble architecture anymore. Forget the word “BUILDING”. M. Heiderich, while playing with light and colours, creates a totally new form.

In this case, it’s Matthias’ fault (and we don’t blame him, we are happy with the results!) – he reveals the sexiness of the architecture in the most gentle and peaceful way: simply by taking the right shot in the right light, with… the right eye and talent.
